Joe and his son traveled with Joe’s long-time mentor and friend, Dr. Fletcher Tink, from April 25th to May 11th throughout the beautiful country of Nepal that is host to the tallest mountain peaks in the world including Mt. Everest. They visited and taught in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Lumbini during this fifteen day journey.

Dr. Tink has led many overseas expeditions and was in Nepal to hold a variety of seminars about the theology of work with college age students in that country. Within a day of Dr. Tink’s arrival, a large earthquake shook the region, killing thousands and leaving millions without power, shelter or basic necessities.

Joe Gass and several of the others team members were enroute, and briefly delayed to begin this trip. When the group finally assembled, they were witnesses to God moving in powerful ways, thru their lives, to help these resilient Nepali people in their time of need. As you read this fascinating set of memoirs by Dr. Tink, you will experience firsthand the many opportunities God placed before them to build relationship and share hope and encouragement to those they met along the way. During that incredible two week period, they had assisted many families and interacted with over 150 university students during the multi-day seminars. As one team member put it, “This experience was one of the highlights of my life.”
