Leonardtown Printer Donates Historical Display to SMCPS

SMCPS

At Heritage Printing & Graphics, we strive to give back to our community.  We feel very passionately about schools, military servants and organizations that strive to enhance our local communities.

Here is a recent article regarding my brother Steve Gass and a donation he made on behalf of Heritage Printing to St. Mary’s County Public Schools (SMCPS).  I hope you enjoy the article.

A Leonardtown printing company has made a donation to St. Mary’s County Public Schools (SMCPS) that will eventually be on display at the Captain Walter Francis Duke Elementary School, now under construction.

The display on Captain Duke’s life and legacy was in the window of Heritage Printing & Graphics on Washington Street in downtown Leonardtown.  School Superintendent Dr. Michael Martirano said he walked by the window one day and saw the display and admired it.

Well, Steve Gass, one of the sons of the company’s founders Allen and Margaret Gass, has donated that display to the school system.  It can now be seen in the lobby of the SMCPS headquarters on Moakley Street and will be moved to the new school when it opens.

Gass told the school board at their regular meeting on Tuesday that he grew up in Leonardtown and heard about Captain Duke.  He said his family is “very much a military family” and appreciates the heroics of Leonardtown’s homegrown hero.  “Naming the school was the best thing anybody could do,” he said.

Heritage Printing has two locations, in Leonardtown and Charlotte, NC, with Steve’s brother Joe running the Charlotte facility.

Captain Walter Francis Duke was a World War II flying ace who’s P-38 was shot down on June 6, 1944.  A plane with a number matching his P-38 was found in 2012 in a cleared jungle in what is now Myanmar.  Duke’s family is awaiting the return of his remains for proper burial.

During a break in the school board meetings, Gass joined the board members and superintendent for a picture in front of the display in the lobby.

Improve Your Newsletter

Direct mail newsletters and email newsletters are excellent for bringing awareness to a company, its brand, services and products.  Newsletters have proven to be an effective form of marketing for businesses of all sizes.

Here are some newsletter tips I use:

  1. Customer testimonials not only add credibility to your newsletter, it also acknowledges the client as an established and satisfied customer.  When brought to their attention, the customer will appreciate the mentioning of his company and brand, thus improving retention.
  2. It’s a good idea to keep track of your email newsletter recipient’s birthdays (social media helps a lot here) and send them a product discount with that edition of your direct mail newsletter.
  3. Schedule your newsletter to be received on a consistent basis.  Your loyal readers will appreciate the timeliness and increase expectations prior to the arrival.  This is easy with our mailing services and fulfillment options.
  4. Become the expert in your industry by answering questions, providing “How To” tips and links to websites/articles that support your statements.
  5. Have a “Special Offer” or “Discount” section to your newsletter.  This will generate interest, increase sales and provide options for tracking your newsletters effectiveness.
  6. Utilize your website as a portal for your newsletter.  This will increase your Internet presence and help with your search rankings.
  7. Always respond to inquiries either by phone, email, text or online replies.  When posting on your website, respond within 2 business days to all questions.

These seven tips can be the difference between a newsletter that gets read and acted upon and one that is deleted or trashed upon arrival.

Heritage Printing is the DC leader in direct mail for newsletters, catalogs and various marketing materials.  We offer turnkey mailing services and fulfillment services!

Heritage Printing & Graphics Launches NEW Website

New Heritage Printing Website

New Heritage Printing Website

It is with great admiration and pride that we launch our latest addition to the Heritage Printing & Graphics online presence, a New Website!

The magnificently redesigned new HeritagePrinting.com was launched in mid-January, with our sister facility in Charlotte, NC launching its new website the following month.  Today, we are ecstatic to say we have solidified our online presence with the fantastic work of our marketing team and staff.  Their efforts to redesign and re-configure the two websites and defragment our ever growing online presence, is a testimony to the high quality of personnel we are happy to work with here at Heritage Printing & Graphics.

The previous website (built over eight years ago) served a phenomenal purpose, enabling our web visitors to view numerous products, communicate with us digitally, order directly from the site and provide us with the data necessary to customize their orders, todays new website does all that and much more!

The emphasis of our new website is the imagery, information, products and services.  As we entered into the sign manufacturing industry several years earlier, it was time our website reflected the new expanded line of products we offer here in Washington, DC.

Our goal is to be the first choice for high quality marketing materials in the Washington, DC area, Charlotte, NC metro and the entire east coast!  We are numerous steps closer to accomplishing our goals with our vastly improved online presence.

I personally invite everyone to re-visit our new website on a regular basis as we add news, information regarding our efforts in the community and our support of the Heritage Printing charities and new product lines.  This latest version of HeritagePrinting.com will be a dynamic online representation of our team and facilities.
